A tragic incident occurred in the rural village of 112 Kızıkhamurkesen in the Şehitkamil district of Gaziantep.
According to reports, 11-year-old Deniz Bilgin, who was herding sheep with his brothers, went into the pond to cool off and suddenly started to struggle in the water. Witnessing his brother drowning, 18-year-old Burhan Bilgin jumped into the water to try and rescue him, but he also disappeared. In a desperate attempt to save his siblings, 21-year-old İsmail Uygun also jumped into the water but went missing as well.
As one of the brothers' body was recovered from the water by locals, emergency services including the 112 Health team, gendarmerie divers, and AFAD search and rescue team were called to the scene. The teams managed to retrieve the bodies of the other two brothers from the pond.
